Action in the night

The freight train pulled up at a wet platform. The watchman was organising signals so that another train could pass! It was all happening in this rainy night.

Three good things:
1. I managed to get this photo without a tripod as mine has only 2 legs now (useless!) I had to hold the camera against a pole. It still could be clearer.
2. John is trying to fix my third leg - tripod, I'm talking about!
3. Warm fuzzies on returning to a cosy home after a wet night out.
Oh what a cool shot. Love the mood and color. Fun, Maggiemae.

Wonderful...Love the silhouette! A sense of mystery.

Cool shot. I like the red color streaming out of the center of the photo.
March 17th, 2014
The misty red color tells the tale of how miserable the night was. you caught it well. The silhouetted man gives it a sense of drama.

great colour and silhouette.

Looks great for no tripod. Adam lost a vital screw from mine when he was making videos aged about ten - I stick a not quite the right screw in instead and it works just until the vital moment.....

A very cool night shot. Love the silhouetted man.

Hope your husband is able to fix your tripod--although the shot looks great in spite of your camera being hand-held.
March 17th, 2014
I thought for sure you had used a tripod! I love the "dark and stormy night" feel of this photo!
March 17th, 2014
The perfect story for your mystery shot
March 17th, 2014
Lovely colours and great silhouettes
March 17th, 2014
Love the lighting in this wonderful shot Maggie.
March 17th, 2014
Congratulations for capturing the moment, I can just imagine how nice it felt to get home after being out in this though!
March 17th, 2014
Great lighting
March 17th, 2014
Amazing colour condensed into a perfect patch of night. Fuzzies? I can't think! Jake the Peg came to mind too!!!
March 17th, 2014
@happypat All that red light came from the red light that was on so this train would stop! I've never seen it like that before!
March 17th, 2014
Great light silhouetting the man.
March 17th, 2014
Lovely mysterious feel. What happened to your tripod's third leg?
March 17th, 2014
A lovely red glow.
March 17th, 2014
The locking part in the leg broke and it wouldn't extend and lock @kwiksilver. However John managed to get a spare part and will put it back together again thankfully!
March 17th, 2014
i hope he stays awake!
March 18th, 2014
That is some neat color, and hopefully you can get the third leg fixed
March 18th, 2014
This is such a great moody shot! Love the bright red light and the silhouette in the center! What a great find!
March 18th, 2014
@luvmynynix It wasn't intentional, Laurie - I was there to shoot the full moon! Thanks for commenting!

March 18th, 2014
The red stop light looks like a fire!! nice silhouette.
March 18th, 2014
It may be a wet and soggy night, but it gives the shot a sense of mystery.

The dominator, sounds like a sequel to the terminator

@kali66 Yes, Kali - he has got that sort of pose on!
March 18th, 2014
The red glow behind the watchman does give it a real sense of drama.
March 18th, 2014
what happened to the leg's tripod? hope it's fixed now. but this is a rather good night shot sans tripod. okay, a monopod has one leg, a tripod has three legs, then the one with two legs make it a duopod? never mind.
March 18th, 2014
@summerfield may be a 'peapod' Vikki! "P' for pity it won't stand up!
March 18th, 2014
@maggiemae - hahahahaha! you kill me yet again!
March 18th, 2014
So mysterious! love the lights and colors. Very moody!
March 18th, 2014

March 18th, 2014
He is very happy that you are there with him in the rain.
March 18th, 2014
@yaorenliu Nope, Yao! I'm hiding behind the column, remember! He probably thinks I'm a lost soul!
March 18th, 2014
It is like a still from a movie!
March 18th, 2014
@gooner46 I can just hear the music - weird and soft with an increasing beat...? Maybe the whole Ukelele Orchestra with whom I have been practising, is going to march across the railway lines playing" Bring me Sunshine"?
March 18th, 2014
Awesome shot and colours
March 18th, 2014
