Unfolding by maggiemae

Unfolding

A new fern unfolding in a pot plant on our table. It has a graceful curve to it and the peep of a green leaf is just visible.

Three good things:
1. Being able to see colourful birds on 365 - ours are really quite dull. Good songs, though.
2. The cat wasn't sick on the carpet... but..!
3. I'm getting better at saying everything twice to John.
Wonderful shot!! I always think ferns are so beautiful the way they open. Great detail showing all the little hairs!! Fav!!

My favorites are the fiddleback ferns- I love the way they curl. This one looks a lot like a fiddleback but there are not as many fronds on it. Very pretty. Even if I said things to Jeff 200 times, he still might not hear it! (o:

I love the unfurling fern! Are those little brown tendrils to reach out and grab things so they can climb stuff?

@ceilidh It was a bit of a hit an miss shot, Margaret, I just couldnt' see through the eyepiece!

@espyetta I actually didn't see these wee tendrils till I looked at the downloaded photo! It really is a tiny frond. It doesn't climb - or it hasn't told me it does, anyway!

@eyesmile I'm always after dreamy backgrounds and organising my camera settings is tricky - it always wants to get EVERYTHING in focus!
