Historic Street by maggiemae

Historic Street

There was a film crew making a movie in this area right at the top of the street so it was closed off to traffic. I took the opportunity to take a shot like this with only people. On Sundays there are stalls here selling all sorts of things - fudge, hats, clothes (Victorian) and knickknacks.

Three good things;
1. Getting a good result from layering 3 photos together at 3 different settings using manual.
2. Getting up at 5am is kind of weird but not a problem. Its our anti jet lag effort.
3. Going to bed at 7pm is even weirder!
Interesting effect with the light in the sky. What a great thing to spot here.

interesting! You will have to tell me how that jet lag cure works. I suffer terribly from it when we go away.

Great shot

@jantan You just pretend you are living in the right time zone. Change all the clocks and keep to a normal routine. We've never done it before so don't know if it works. We have shifted the time zone on our computers gradually to eventually be in the destination time zone.

Congratulations on doing an HDR ...and using Manual. Great result! I love the sky and it is a lovely soft contrast to the walls.

Looks like fun, did you find out what they are filming? The sky looks so surreal.

it's like a long walk although i would imagine it is not. whenever i travel to manila, i use an herbal pill called "no jet lag". it's like a tiny candy and you put it underneath your tongue before the flight and every hour during flight. i've had no problem with jet lag. then it's the same coming back. it's weird going to bed at 7 in the evening. even old people don't go to bed that early! :-)

@summerfield But I am old. Vikki! Maybe I will get to like it and go to bed at 7pm every night! But might miss out on all the fun though!

Great to see how far the film crew go to control their space. A whole street blocked !!

@tonydebont AND they told me not to publish the photos on FB!

Great shot, Maggiemae. Love your processing. How does one layer photos? I have heard this a few times but have not found out yet. I love your way of handling jet lag. How do I find you on Facebook, I am there too under Darlene Solem. Hope you can find me ok. It is fun on there with various people from here.

@summerfield I've just purchased this and have put it in my satchel . Thanks extremely much for letting us know!

You get all the excitement down your way...it will be fun seeing the finished film if it is shown in your area...would hope so if your town took such a big part of it. I like that long view down the empty street...the usual activities such as the stalls sound very interesting...you will have to show us the usual look of this street to compare!!
I an very intrigued by your jet lag remedy....wont be too bad going to bed at 7pm as the moment as its winter but might not be too good in the summer!!!! Will see the results in September! I am OK going to NZ . I soon get into your time zone but flying back it takes me about a week to get back to normal but getting better all the time.
