Over 148 motorbikes - all Indian, were here at the end of the 100mile run today. I didn't go on the run, being nervous of riding bikes (never been on one, even!) So I stayed behind and surfed 365.
Three good things:
1. They all came back safely - a blessing as John was in the sidecar on the leading bike.
2. Caribou Coffee is so good here - almost as good as NZ's coffee
3. They raised a heap of money - all for charity
Super collection of bikes.......all the same make, they must have been amazing to watch in convoy!
John must be having a ball.......so exciting for him....his dear dad would have been so thrilled at all this enthusiasm for the Indian Bike.
You are doing a great job of publicity !!
What an amazing sight and a huge sigh of relief that everyone returned ok! Are you up to date on 365 after all your surfing, I always seem to be chasing my tail on here!
@jackie8 I don't think I would ever be up to date, Jackie - not with following 220 people! I just enjoy what is published at the time I'm looking at it1
All Indian? I am not sure what that means? I have been so darn busy, I have not kept up with your trip in the US, but based on your comments, sounds like you are still here. What a major undertaking when all these bikes gather and ride!
we had just come home from a long trip and saw quite a number of motorbikers. stopping for lunch and checking out the beach, i came across an indian motorbike and was about to take a pic when the owner showed up and sped away. i did take a photo but they were garbage. i wondered why he's not in the u.s. doing this run? partner was asking how i suddenly know about indian motorbikes and i even mentioned burt munro who i told him set up a land speed that still stands today. things we get to know from being on 365. these dudes look so tame compared to the groups of bikers we saw today, hells angels and all.
@happypat There has been so much activity - it will be nice to wind down in the French countryside, drink wine, eat cheese and not hamburgers and beer!
Great shot, Maggie. Love them all lined up like that. You've never been on a motorcycle??? Oh wow... You should try it. Nothing like the feeling. I loved my Honda Goldwing Aspencade. That was a great bike.
When my grandfather was a young man he liked to work on motors of any kind. He owned 11 motorcycles, some were Indians. But I can understand you not wanting to ride one, me neither. Nice photo.
