The Electric Bike by maggiemae

The Electric Bike

Made in NZ and extremely well designed, this is a great bike. It folds up almost in half and will fit into the boot of a car.

Three Good Things:
1. You still get some exercise as you have to peddle for the electrics to start and continue to peddle. You just go faster and with less effort.
2. I went up the Rail Trail at 15km/hr and did 12km.
3. My sunflower seeds have sprouted
Nice processing, enjoy your new bike!

October 22nd, 2014
I need one - except we don't have many hills so I suppose really I just want one...
October 22nd, 2014
@judithg It is also particularly good with headwinds, Judith and... if you have a weak knee, it is brilliant!
October 22nd, 2014
Next stop, Tour de France!
October 22nd, 2014
@maggiemae I've got weak everything!
October 22nd, 2014
@jackie8 I can put this in my suitcase, do you think Jackie and fly to France? I'm a bit old for that sort of activity!
October 22nd, 2014
@judithg There you go- you need one - got to be prepared to stop on the corners though and not go sailing through!
October 22nd, 2014
Look at you all cool. How neat is that?!
October 22nd, 2014
This looks Snazzy. We see lots over here too. Very handy to get around near places that are a bit far to walk.
October 22nd, 2014
I need one of those, could go a lot further...does it have a comfy seat...lol
October 22nd, 2014
That looks great. I think it would work great here in my community.
October 22nd, 2014
Cool! WOuld be useful in Leeds - bit hilly here.
October 22nd, 2014
Awesome shot
October 22nd, 2014
Great bike and shot!
October 22nd, 2014
Fun catch of the biker and the bike!
October 22nd, 2014
@rustymonkey Most new bikes now have comfy seats, Karen - thank goodness! Being cut in half while biking long distances is a thing of the past!
October 22nd, 2014
@grammyn I'm one of those 'old bikers' now, Katy! Been biking since I was 8 years old and so been on the wheels now for 64 years!! Help, did I really say that!
October 22nd, 2014
LOL I need a bike like that!! Cool shot!
October 22nd, 2014
@maggiemae Amazing AND impressive!

October 22nd, 2014
Oh want one of these and love the pink helmet
October 22nd, 2014
@claireuk That pink helmet never goes with anything - the now red bike, my orange coat etc!
October 22nd, 2014
coolio bike and a coolio maggie :)
October 22nd, 2014
@phil_howcroft I'm a coolio biker chick, do you think Phil?
October 22nd, 2014
@maggiemae deffo maggie, i mean that pink helmet is essential headgear for a biker chick :)
October 22nd, 2014
love that your bike helps you along :) it would be great to ride to work on.......I am always put off by the long, upward climb to the city, this would solve all that :)
October 22nd, 2014
@pixiemac You've got to have one - but it might cost as much as a DSLR!
October 22nd, 2014
I love the pink helmet! ..... fab shot :)
October 22nd, 2014
Great shot, love the colour and the bike sounds really useful.
About Lindisfarne - yes we did stay on the island, but not in the castle! I don't think I explained things very well. The pic I took of St Cuthbert's Island was just a tiny outcrop where he used to go to meditate, Lindisfarne itself is home to about 400 people (although I couldn't find exact numbers) Many people visit every day when the tide is out and there are a number of small hotels and B&B's on the island. It's such a magical place, and they do photographic courses there - I've put it on my Christmas list!
October 22nd, 2014
The song 'Born to be Wild' came to mind when I saw this :o) You look ready for anything! xx
October 22nd, 2014
Hat and bike to match. Great shot
October 22nd, 2014
@psychographer Thank you Lisa - I actually put this headscarf on to keep the hair out of my face but now you have said this - it is exactly what you see bikers wear!
October 22nd, 2014
@busylady Great to hear about this Judith - I had thought it was a deserted island with a ruin!
October 22nd, 2014
Well a real biker chick you are maggiemae....I love the nochantly tied scarf with the ends flowing......you could join a biker gang in that any day.
Looks a great bike too.......see how much you could see with that machine at your disposal. The summer in front of you & wheels like that......happy times! Fave from me!
October 22nd, 2014
@happypat Darn, tooting right, Pat!! Will now even go down the big hill to the harbour where there is a new cafe opening up this weekend!
October 22nd, 2014
Maggiemae, you look like the ultimate new-age hippie here!! :-))) Love your new bike, your helmet, your outfit, your attitude, everything!! Enjoy your new toy.....great shot!!
October 22nd, 2014
Looking good. Happy pedalling!
October 22nd, 2014
Oh yes! That looks perfect for me!
October 22nd, 2014
Wow that looks and sounds just right! I want one! You look super cool with your headscarf! Do you have to take a test to drive one of these?
October 22nd, 2014
@pamknowler No test, Pam but you do have to read the manual!
October 22nd, 2014
Great capture, cool bike and I like your processing
October 22nd, 2014
That's my kind of bike.
October 22nd, 2014
I'd love one of those.
October 22nd, 2014
Nicely captured and impressive processing. Bike sounds like a great idea.
October 23rd, 2014
Love your helmet too.
October 23rd, 2014
I really love your style, and your bike!
October 23rd, 2014
you were just born to be wild!
October 23rd, 2014
Great shot. Your electric bike looks like fun.
October 23rd, 2014
I occasionally condider one of these during my commute home - usually on the last half mile, struggling up Croft Hill.
October 23rd, 2014
@shepherdman The only thing you have to worry about is someone stealing it even though it does have a built in lock to the back wheel!
October 23rd, 2014
It looks like a great bike! How fun! I like your photo processing.
October 23rd, 2014
jealous! i can't ride a bike if it has wheels. heck, i can't even do one minute on one of those bikes in the gym! but i promised myself next spring i will definitely rent one of those three wheeler (and partner just made a howling laugh! and said better get a good insurance!). look at you, i can't believe that's your age! but then again, why won't we hide our age especially if we look as good as you!
October 23rd, 2014
@summerfield You are being very sweet, Vikki to say such things! Goodness I'll be doing the Charleston in a minute!
October 23rd, 2014
Awesome bike! I would love to have one of those if the Poconos were a little flatter!
October 23rd, 2014
@olivetreeann But thats the thing, Ann - the wheels are boosted by the battery and you are pulled up the hill. You can choose to go slow - speed one, or fast, speed five!
October 23rd, 2014
@maggiemae But I live on a MOUNTAIN- a hill would be fine! But really- I don't think a small motor would be able to pull me up the mountains here. However, it might do just fine if I put it in the back of the Subaru and take it down to the McDade Trail. Now there's an idea...
October 23rd, 2014
Wow. I never thought I'd be tempted to bike again but that makes me want to try
October 23rd, 2014
Wow. What fun! I had a friend who recently rode an electric bike in a bike tour and swears by it.
October 23rd, 2014
I want one! You hot mamma you! Great selfie!
October 23rd, 2014
@rmkgreene Your comments make me smile - thank you Ruth1
October 23rd, 2014
self portraits are a always fascinating, great shot. fav
October 23rd, 2014
@jokristina they are nowadays, Jo! Its not a job of the best and most beautiful photo but more an emotion or a state of condition!
October 23rd, 2014
aha just what I need! Great selfie!
October 23rd, 2014
A super shot I could do with one of these !
October 23rd, 2014
Cool selfie. Love the headscarf. This could do very well in Malta if it is strong enough to go up steep roads. We are traffic congested most of the day.
October 23rd, 2014
you look fabulous Maggiemae, cycle safely :)
October 23rd, 2014
That would be a neat ride about town
October 23rd, 2014
cool ...
October 23rd, 2014
Great bike and Selfie shot Maggie...Fav.
October 23rd, 2014
What a great photo of you and your new bike, Maggiemae. Sounds like fun to get out and about and not as difficult as a regular bike and easy to take with you. Great to have sunflowers sprouting. I love the inside of them in a green salad. FAV
October 24th, 2014
Love your bandana. Gives you that roguish bikie look. They are such a good idea for the hilly bits - saw them on sale at the market here on Sunday and watched a lady trying one out - was sorely tempted. Have fun.
October 24th, 2014
You're a wonder woman Maggiemae - cool shot and even cooler processing.
October 24th, 2014
Lovely selfie and great processsing!
October 25th, 2014
well...you are quite the fashion statement! How fun...and a super selfie as well!!
October 25th, 2014
I hope that you can bike 70k before recharge your battery.
October 25th, 2014
@yaorenliu Its got about 12 hours of battery and depending on how fast you want to go, the battery will last that time! If you want to be a Speeding Granny and go at 26k/hr, it won't last that long! If you want to be a Conservative Senior, it will last a lot longer!
October 25th, 2014
Bev
Great shot, Maggie. Love the bike! It folds up? That's convenient! I want one now.
October 26th, 2014
That's a nifty bike -- wouldn't mind having one myself!
October 26th, 2014
My friend has one of these and she thinks they're amazing
