Oak Alley by maggiemae

Oak Alley

These old oaks line the driveway into the homestead that was built in the 1880's where we stayed in little Moth Manor. So thats how old they would be!

Three good things;
1. I just about dropped my camera taking this photo - a sheep came up behind me and baa'd loudly!
2. Getting home and finding the cat wasn't too stressed out having two days on her own. We have an automatic feeder that lets out 1/2 cup of food and a taped message to call her twice a day!
3. Didn't miss the Men's Tennis Tournament - not as interesting as the Women's one.
Beautiful colours

I wonder if these beautiful oaks are as old as the homestead.

I love the light, too. And I love avenues. They are something special.

What a coincidence , you did a driveway too...I like yours better than ours! I am intrigued by the taped message to your cat...do you mean she can hear you talking by a timed machine? We can leave ours for a couple of days now there is no dog to pinch her food but a message is a treat I never thought off,

Beautiful capture, lovely driveway lined with trees.

@happypat The auto pet feeder has a facility where you make your own message and it plays it twice when the timer lets the food out! It runs on batteries that have lasted for years, so good value!

@gijsje I would think so, Bep - they are so big - 150 years old!

Beautiful shot. Great lighting. I had to laugh about #1. I grew up on a small farm. I was startled like that once by a calf and once by a king snake.

Love the photo. Ad to chuck about your taped message for the kitty. We might have to try that next time we leave our cat.

Nice shot, Maggie. Very scenic. Those are some old trees. I love that you called your cat twice a day! That was really thoughtful. Some people just go and not even think of the cat (I know someone like that).
January 18th, 2015
@prttblues It is an automatic taped message for the cat, Bev! The auto feeder has a tape recorder in it and plays the message!

@maggiemae That's so cool. That must have made your cat feel not so alone. I forgot to add that I am glad you didn't drop your camera. Sheep like to head butt.
