A favourite painting

Even though its very restraining being stuck in one room while getting better, its challenging!

This is a favourite and real water colour that was painted by a local artist about 60 years ago. Its on the wall of the bedroom. It is appropriate when discussing how easy it is to turn a photo into a painting now.

Three good things:
1. Having a conversation with 365 friends.
2. John is learning how to cook or more specifically how to use the microwave!
3. The cat leaning against my legs in bed all day! I guess she wanted me to get better, get up and give her lots of wonderful treats!
Awesome shot

A super shot. Get better soon.

Oh no - sounds horrible (except the cat is probably delighted to have company with his day's work protecting your bed)

Get well soon!

@judithg Thanks Judith! I was quite surprised to have her up on the bed for so long! I guess she knows I'm under the weather!

I hope you are now on the road to recovery Maggiemae! Or are you enjoying being looked after by John? Nice to know the cat is keeping you company! Lovely painting by the way.

@pamknowler John won't let me go out on the road, Pam! Thanks- getting better - hope to get a better photo today - outside of the room!

Very nice painting.

yes, if i was an artist it would be depressing knowing someone can click a button and make a photo look like this. get well!

@chard You can even remove a tree if you want in a photo then clone the fence together!
June 1st, 2015
This totally looks like one of your magical creations! Who knew it was otherwise?!
June 1st, 2015
@grammyn Well, I can't draw trees for a start, Katy - they end up looking like seaweed draped over a pole!!

Wonderful photo, Maggiemae. I hope you are better soon. It is amazing how our pets spend time with us when we are ill.
June 1st, 2015

So sorry you are still "one room bound," but hoping you are on the mend. I think our pets know when we are under the weather. This shot is a very creative use of the resources available to you... nicely done! A lovely result. Hope you are up to escaping soon.:)

@rosiekerr I've escaped, Rosie- now back in full kitchen mode!

Oh Maggie, what happened? I took a break for a few days. Hope you are up and about soon. It's a wonderful painting, by the way. Is that the way it's framed, or did you process it? I really like the effect it creates.

You are really being creative while confined to bed. It's a beautiful painting too and your photo does it justice!
June 1st, 2015
That's a lovely watercolour. I've noticed over the years that cats seem to know when you are not well, and can be very comforting.
June 1st, 2015
@skstein Its got an old frame, Sandy and with that paler surround around the painting - forgotten what thts called. Its really old but I love it!
June 1st, 2015
@taffy Its good I took this - -if its stolen, I've got a photo!
June 1st, 2015

A lovely artwork.

I love this picture especially the effective use of those strong colours. Are you still under bedroom arrest or have you hatched an escape plan?
June 1st, 2015
@thistle I've hatched, Joyce! Maybe the surreal help I've had but now I'm free!

Beautiful painting and very nicely framed. My brother-in-law enjoys painting with water colours. He is the one who paints the face of the Maltese Clocks which I am doing and he got the first clock.
June 1st, 2015
Glad to hear you've escaped from the bedroom. How long will your re recovery be? This I a lovely painting, I like the strong colours in it
June 1st, 2015
@kelly2 My recovery will have been complete when I can stop coughing when I laugh! Thanks Irene!

Nice painting. Get well soon. 😊

A lovely watercolour and yes I did wonder if it was one of your clever conversions from the camera when I first saw it. Sorry to hear you are laid low though. Here's a short poem of mine to cheer you up (I wrote it when I was feeling unwell):

Plankton

I'd like to be a plankton
floating in the sea,
no need of plan to act on,
not knowing that I'm me,
to completely draw a blank on
the point of poetry.

Such a lovely watercolour. You'll be up and about soon, I'm sure of it!
June 1st, 2015

I like the style

Cats are good company......makes it easier to be ill in the winter....lovely painting!
June 3rd, 2015
it could have been your photo processed into a painting. you have shot a similar scenery before if my memory serves me right. or maybe someone else's. i hope you are better now, maggiemae. having a conversation with like-minded people is always great!
June 3rd, 2015
Hopefully you're feeling better by the time I see this shot. It's a lovely painting. Fun thing is that if you'd not put any wall around it and told us it was a landscape you'd processed this way or that, we wouldn't have known the difference!
June 4th, 2015
@olivetreeann I think if you saw the painting you would realise it was a real painting but with the technology now - one can produce a very good likeness!
June 4th, 2015
That's so funny, I was just imaging you in bed with your favorite pet, and there it is!! Cats are so comforting in times like this.....sleeping is their favorite activity besides eating, and they like it when their humans join them in staying in bed all day....;-))) Have you been to the doctor yet.....this sounds like you might need some prescription drugs!
