Mist in the afternoon by maggiemae

Mist in the afternoon

Although heaps better than last week, I still have to mollycoddle myself and not go out on my usual 6am marathon!

I got an email from picmonkey about B&W options and they are good - wanted to experiment. Nothing emerged out of the woodwork and looked good but I do have to to get the right subject.

Three good things
1. Put out crushed peanuts for the birds and created a war!

2. The distant view over the rooftops worked well here.

3. A fatal accident down the road from us didn’t affect us thank goodness but there was queues for miles on either side! It was at a particular place where there was absolutely no detour! A six hour wait for some people! (this was badly put, Ive realised afterwards!)
Super shot. You will get a little stronger day by day.

The mist has lent some beautiful layering to this view - lovely restful capture.

Very atmospheric and mystical Maggiemae -- glad you are feeling better and no marathons just yet !!!
June 2nd, 2015
Beautiful layers! Good to hear you are feeling a bit better! Take it easy though and don't overdo it!
June 2nd, 2015
@pamknowler You sound like my husband! Probably right too - I want to go out and its raining and cold!
June 2nd, 2015
@beryl The only marathon I've ever done, Beryl, has been making sandwiches for 100 people!
June 2nd, 2015
Magic capture with that hint of colour from the sun.

Wonderful mist. Your #1 was hilarious :-) Bird Wars sounds like a tv show

" mollycoddle " there's a word you don't hear every day! I love it . it's a perfect descriptive word! And this picture is picture perfect too! I just had to FAV it for all those beautiful layers of color!!

@grammyn Thank you for your fav, Katy! It is always good to see that one is doing something right!

Beautiful magical mystic photo
June 3rd, 2015
Is this also a view from your window? You've gotten some really great shots while recouping.
June 3rd, 2015
@skstein Yes, the same window as lots of photos! Depends where you set your sights! The light changes on these hills all the time!
June 3rd, 2015
I like the mood that these gentle tones set. It is very peaceful.
June 3rd, 2015
Wonderful capture, layers
June 3rd, 2015
Very peaceful scene, at odds with point 3 in three good things!
June 3rd, 2015
Simple and peaceful, Maggie. And I love the color tones.
June 3rd, 2015
@taffy The only good thing was that we were not caught up in this, Taffy! Awful for all the ones who were not to mention the fatality!

Bev
Great shot, Maggie. Very lovely scene. I seem to have missed what happened to you. I hope it was nothing to serious. I'm glad to see that you are on the mend. Medical issues are no fun, are they?
June 3rd, 2015
@prttblues When I think about what you go through, Bev - it makes me very guilty to even complain about what I had ! I knew it was only temporary!
June 3rd, 2015
What lovely layers and pastel colors!
June 3rd, 2015
A really lovely moody image.
June 3rd, 2015
Nice depth to this…. always good to list the good things but I'm a bit concerned that you thought a fatal accident was one of them… :-)
June 3rd, 2015
greta shot, nice layers
June 3rd, 2015
@yrhenwr Sorry you got that idea David - someone else did too! What I should have made clearer was that we could have easily been one of those cars waiting for 6 hours on the road! It was an area we so often travel to visit friends!
June 3rd, 2015
welcome back to the world.
June 3rd, 2015
Nice misty shot. Molly-coddle yourself as long as possible! Sad about the fatal accident.
June 3rd, 2015
@maggiemae It's OK Maggie… I knew what you meant really. I was just teasing… doesn't come over well on social media, does it?

Bep
What a beautiful magic picture. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
June 3rd, 2015
surreal almost. I'd like to hear more about the war. Why is war-mongering on your good list?
June 3rd, 2015
magnificent, looks like a painting. awesome
fav
June 3rd, 2015
Perfectly captured the atmosphere. :)
June 3rd, 2015
Lovely, could be a painting.
June 3rd, 2015
I am enjoying the many views from your one window! This landscape feels mystical to me. I am glad you are recuperating... take care of yourself. Your comments, and those of others, gave me a chuckle about the accident - although I am glad you were not stuck on the road!
June 3rd, 2015
@yrhenwr whew!
June 3rd, 2015
@rosiekerr thanks Rosie- thought I'd made a booboo there!
June 3rd, 2015
this looks like an oil painting, maggiemae. brushstrokes of the master, only with better details. aces!
June 3rd, 2015
I really like the processing here- beautiful hills and quite serene. Tragedy with the accident though.
June 4th, 2015
Beautiful tones and layers. Love the clouds.
June 4th, 2015
Love the delicate shapes and soft tones in this.
