Cat talk.. by maggiemae

Cat talk..

Hey, you there with the iPad in your hands… do you know it is I who have chosen to sit on your knee by the fire???

Happens every night - but this cat is happy!

Three good things:
1. a bike ride, the first for some weeks but it was just wonderful - on the Bike Trail was, a young runner who wouldn’t meet my eyes, a young female pony rider who said hello with a smile, two serious riders who lost some energy probably smiling at me, and two little boys standing on the bank and one said, Good Afternoon in a confident voice!
2. My camera is getting a lot of ‘noise’ on photos - have to read the manual again.
3. My prospective Journal is taking more time than I thought - there are ‘spaces’ that shouldn’t be there! Have to go through every single paragraph! Got the time, that is good.
Love kitty's expression! And it feels cozy!

Well this looks a very cosy scene.....I think winter is a lovely season myself.......there's nothing like a fire!
No wonder your little cat is happy....cats paradise! You will get your book perfect very soon I'm sure....worth all the effort! Fab name badge on your wall!

@happypat Yes, John got that from America - ordered it and it was delivered a few days later! Faster than our mail!

Nice warm tone to your image. Wonder why the noise on your camera - what is the ISO setting when this happens?
July 25th, 2015
Haha - a sure fire way of getting a cat on your knee - try to do something else!
July 25th, 2015
@dide I keep the ISO at 80 all the time - its the faraway shots that get the noise - perhaps I should increase the ISO for them? Do you know?
July 25th, 2015
Cat's do love their routines! ours are no different.
July 25th, 2015
bump up the ISO for indoor low light shots maggie or in this instance you could use fill in flash. a nice insight into maggie's home
July 25th, 2015
Looks like he is enjoying the fire.
July 25th, 2015
@phil_howcroft Close up shots are OK, Phil - its wider landscape shots that have the noise - I think I'll use the automatic function and see what the camera decides on settings.

@maggiemae you need good light for ISO 80 maggie
July 25th, 2015
Love the words and the turn of the cats head which speaks volumes!

Everyone appears to be enjoying the atmosphere and the evening.

@paulaw Cats are very good at staring, Paula!
July 25th, 2015
A lovely cosy capture.

Your ISO setting seems pretty low. This would be ok for bright sunlit days, but as soon as the light is lower, the ISO should be changed to a higher setting. If you are using low ISO, then you should use a tripod for low light landscape scenes. Have a Google to see what you can find.

Looks so cozy !! Lovely capture.
July 26th, 2015
This is a delightfully cozy capture! Your kitty seems very intent on securing some attention. :) Sounds like a good idea to try letting the camera pick its own ISO and see what happens with your noise. 80 does seem pretty low, unless you have great lighting outside.
July 26th, 2015
Wonderful capture!
July 26th, 2015
@rosiekerr Yes, good idea, Rosie - put the ISO on auto!

Very good capture of man-cat interaction...they both seem to be intent on ignoring one another but being in close proximity.

cute
July 27th, 2015
Lovely cosy scene!
July 27th, 2015
Nice domestic scene. Good you got out on the bike. Do you put the cat in a basket on the handlebars or get down on the drops and go like the clappers! As for photo noise, could it be over-processing?
July 27th, 2015
@yrhenwr I discovered today, David that the 'noise' was a dirty lens! Imagine that - a photographer having a dirty lens!
July 27th, 2015
So warm and cozy!!!
