Looking towards our little coastal town this path develops beyond here for 100's km. But I was walking back home. This guy cycled toward me and when he passed me, I realise who he was! A stalwart resident of Oamaru, his father and my father were lawyers together in the 1950's. He's a great tramper, has many stories and is now over 90years old!
Three good things.
1 Posting early because of a very early start on our rail trip which involves a road going over several hills of over 300ft. Just to catch the train. Snow has been forecast for 300 ft and upwards! Sadie, our wonderful exotic Mercedes is not a four wheel drive!
2. On our walk up this trail we noticed a black and white lamb - looked like a bobby calf!
3. Eldest son's birthday and we skipped. (this is what auto correct said - in actual fact, we skyped) Japan to NZ.!
Great shot! Just drove back from Greymouth today - hardly any snow on Arthurs or Porters passes. Just starting on the Kilmog as we came through though, so good luck!
I really enjoy the leading lines of the path, the textures and tones of the grasses, and the tiny biking figure in the distance. I am delighted to learn that he is 90! :). Enjoy your trip.
Love the soft hues of pale & darker greys. Your man would be envious of your electric bike if you had been riding it.....would have stopped in his tracks! Have a great visit to Dunedin.....look forward to the photos.!
@happypat We have got through the high hills which are snow covered and are now 'waiting at the station'! Our trip starts in Dunedin then goes over the Pass to the West Coast - a 6 day trip!
This looks like a great bike path and I can only imagine that your weather is a bit cooler than ours. It's tough to ride here right now - heat index over 100 F. Waiting for Fall. Great choice on b/w too!
Gotta love auto correct!
