North to Alaska - no.... by maggiemae

North to Alaska - no....

While riding on through the night up the coast of the South Island of NZ, Mr Man goes through so different territories! From rocky cliffs where seals snore off to wild rivers rushing down to the sea from the high mountains!

This is Mr Man having traversed this fast flowing river and made it on to the gravel bank that leads to another road, he breathes a sigh of relief! Whew!

There are a few people who may think I'm totally mad making a story out of this fellow on a pretend motorbike but he and Yolanda are really a figment of my imagination and have had tons of adventures!

Three good things:
1. This is an original photo that I took for the composition. I think its the Clarence River in Kaikoura territory.
2. In the meantime, I’m trying to find out where Madamoiselle Yolanda is! There are so many rural roads that have letter boxes like this. Might have to ask, @happypat !
3. More fresh corn available in the supermarkets!
Gorgeous colors in that water and the trees.

I wonder if Mr Man has time to notice and appreciate the beautiful terrain he is travelling through ! I am sure he is too concerned in finding Yolanda -- perhaps he will enjoy the beautiful views after he has found her .So glad you had your camera with you Maggiemae to record his journey

@kelly2 A wealth of different and beautiful countrysides here, irene!
March 18th, 2016
A little bit too much green for Alaska. And he would be way off track anyway I think. He looks like he's making good time though. I hope he finds her soon.

@grammyn Mr Man doesn't like traveling by main road, Katy - I don't think he's got a proper licence for this bike! So its off the beaten track which takes longer!
March 18th, 2016
@maggiemae that explains why you get so many fabulous pictures of him. Off the beaten track is much more interesting.

Mr man is so lucky to be surrounded by this beautiful countyside

March 19th, 2016
Amazing scenery, such a treat to travel through it.
March 19th, 2016
What gorgeous scenery. I love the blue of that water.
March 19th, 2016
@kiwichick As you might know, Lesley - only some east coast rivers have this great blue colour!
March 19th, 2016
Glacier fed?
March 19th, 2016
Love the colours, Maggie, and love your creativity
March 19th, 2016
@kiwichick Well it came from way up further in the kaikouras - a bit like Tekapo, Lesley!
March 19th, 2016
Ahh yes, it is a similar colour to Tekapo too.
March 19th, 2016
Lovely scene!
March 19th, 2016
@paulavdmerwe Yes, we are lucky with the colours that we can get in the Fresh of NZ, Paula!
March 19th, 2016
Thanks for the explanation, I was beginning to worry about you.
March 19th, 2016
@deliad Don't worry, Delia - if I stop posting - 'They' have come to take me away!
March 19th, 2016
Mr Man really does travel through such beautiful territory. I hope it doesn't distract him from the real purpose of his journey!. Thank you for your kind message yesterday. Side effects apparently can get worse for a few weeks then they will wear off. I can live with that!
March 19th, 2016
A beautiful view and I like that rusted vehicle. I suppose it was brought there by the current.
March 19th, 2016
Mr Man has certainly chosen a very nice scenic place to rest, although I expect he will soon be on his way again - safe journey.
March 19th, 2016
Fabulous colours and scenery.
March 19th, 2016
It was a great place for him to stop and ponder.
March 19th, 2016
looking forward to the adventures of Mr Man and Yolanda. Wonder if he will find her
March 19th, 2016
Very imaginative!
March 19th, 2016
Mr Man looks slightly malnourished. Could do with a decent steak dinner inside him.
March 19th, 2016
Lovely and interesting capture, well done Mr. Man
March 19th, 2016
@365projectorgsebgritt Yes, he has a rather slim shape, Sebastion. He only eats nuts and bolts thats why!
March 19th, 2016
He is a brave, resourceful and persistent fellow, Mr. Man. Yolanda doesn't know how lucky she is! Perhaps you will have to put out a national alert asking everyone to inspect their mailboxes and get back to Mr. Man. I only hope Yolanda doesn't fall into the actual mailbox and get posted abroad somewhere ... I love the comp of the original photograph, by the way.
March 19th, 2016
@tristansmum Crikey, Stephanie - never thought of that but she might have to go in an envelope and I think she will fight to the death before that happens!
March 19th, 2016
Looks like he gets a lot of beautiful countryside to see and his quest for finding Yolanda.
March 19th, 2016
Too bad Mr. Man can't stop and enjoy the view- it's beautiful!
March 21st, 2016
This is a great place for Mr Man to stop.
