Beat Beethoven

Imagine hearing a live performance of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in this historic area of Kingston and seeing hundreds of people running various lengths of a course and back. The idea was they had to be back before the orchestra finished the symphony!
Three Good Things:
1. Most got back in the 50 minutes. Some were a bit late but got welcomed back with great cheers!
2. The music was wonderful - a full orchestra - all in a tent which was necessary as......
3. The rifleman standing there came from Fort Henry and fired his musket to start the race. He must have hit a cloud because immediately it started to rain hard!
Great idea, don't think I could actually start running. Neat capture

Oh to stand there all relaxed and listen to the orchestra playing Beethoven's Fifth Symphony must be heaven. I would leave the running to the younger crowd. glad you're feeling better.

Well now that's an interesting race concept! I wonder if it will catch on elsewhere. Your city shots have been fun to see!
June 9th, 2016
@olivetreeann I think so too - the orchestra was VERY good and one like that doesn't often give free performances!
