As I have to go to the dentist at 9am, this photo is one I took at the end of my Book Launch last night which I was dreading!
I had lots of encouraging comments from my 365 friends which I so appreciated and after 6 cups of vodka, could face my audience with great confidence! Lol!
I will catch up with dates eventually but this one is actual.
Three good things”
1. A rest in the glorious sun on our comfy bed as I have also been under the weather - someone passed a virus on to me!
2. There were about 18 people at this event and the Librarian said that was a very good result! Most of them I knew but incorporated a repartee with them which I have learnt is good to do in public speaking
3. Sold 8 books. I’m chuffed! John was instrumental at taking the cash as I would have probably given them all away!
Well it sounds like the book launch went ok. Well done you. 6 cups of vodka will fix anything except what the dentist needs to do perhaps although I always found whisky to be a good painkiller.
Oh well done Zmaggie, bet you're glad that it's all behind you now! 8 books is a lot I think, any author would be pleased with that result I think!
Nerve wracking experience!
I think I reccommend a complete weeks rest now, you have never stopped over the last few months, even holidays are tiring! I would think you will be exhausted so no wonder you are under the weather!
@happypat - yes and today at the dentist while she drilled into my nevernever, I thought I would take it easy and relax. Naturally I didn't have that amount of vodka but my one did help. Just imagine if I swayed all over the lectern and slurred my words then fell down! Whoopee doo!
@busylady I typed my mothers 1929 diary on to the computer - 4 diaries actually. She left NZ with her sister and went by steamship to England where she bought a 1928 Morris Oxford Convertible and the two of them had a ball driving all round Britain!
Wow, I have missed out on your book, but, have picked up from these comments re your Mum's diaries, so pleased you sold 8 on the first launch. How great to have those precious diaries....Sorry about the tooth!!
Nerve wracking experience!
