Seen outside our motel window where we are staying while visiting my sister in the Hospice.
Three good things
1. She had moments when she knew people and put her arm round them.
2. The Hospice is a haven of quiet and comfort.
3. A dear little dog at the motel who is completely deaf and so sweet.
There is something wonderful about this perspective - like its subject, it travels. And you finding life's silver linings is just about the best perspective of all.
I never thought a train could look pretty but this one is a lovely shade of pink & seeems to meander through those trees like a big caterpillar. Even the red light adds to the scene beautifully.
Hospices have a wonderful peaceful feel I have been told although I have never been in one yet thank goodness not even to visit anyone in know. Your sister seems to be in a happy place to end her days & the staff will keep her painfree & comfortable. Hope it helps to see her peaceful.
The train is rolling along, continuing on its journey. On round the bed it's just out of sight, a bit like us. My husband brother was in a hospice this year and it certainly was a place of comfort and nothing was too much trouble for them. Glad you are able to be with your sister.
Lovely shot. It sounds like your sister is in a good place. I am glad that your sister has had these lucid moments. Those are the precious moments. I will keep her and you in my prayers and thoughts.
Having just experienced a similar situation with my father I can totally support the benefits of a hospice surrounding for your sister. I was unable to be there with my dad and so I know what a special blessing it is for you to be there with your sister. Keeping you in my prayers for the strength encourage necessary to pass through the next few days
To be there is everything, and nothing, all at once. It is to reinforce the bond that will remain - when she is with you, and when she is not. Thinking of you.
Beautiful capture of the train going through such lush greenery. It is so wonderful that you can still focus on the good in life during this difficult time.
I'm so sorry to hear about your sister, Maggie. Thinking of you and wishing you and your family all the comfort and strength you need to cope with today and all the days ahead.
Can't add more to what is already posted...so glad you can be there for your sister, though it must be hard for all. Hospice is an amazing organization - I know they can be a unique support.
