I got one photo today of shoes on a park - dozens of pairs of shoes neatly arranged and wondered what it was about. I soon found out - the word is 'empty shoes' - a display to show the suicide rate in NZ. Didn't want to display that here.
So -the camera caught the blue black of the blackbird on our lawn.
Three Good Things:
1.My lens cap fell down the side of my seat in the car and we just cannot find it! We happened to be parked by a pub so went in for a delicious lunch!
2. Mixed nuts.
3. Youtube for finding old songs.
I was amazed at the photo of the empty shoes maggie, a very focal & startling reminder.
Are blackbirds as popular in nz as they are in the UK? His weird how things disappear!
@happypat Apparently NZ's rate of suicide is extremely high. Its a difficult subject. Blackbirds are really common but much nicer than the sparrow. We have just about removed the front seat looking for that cap but to no avail! I'll have to buy another!
@maggiemae it will turn up when youv'e bought another! Why such high suicide in your lovely relaxed country I wonder. I know farmer suicide is high here but they have the means unfortunately & it can be a lonely life. Perhaps the reason in your country. Lots of teenagers specially boys too, such a heartbreaking thing for all to deal with.
Amazing how blue he looks and l think the green grass accents that!
Hurry up and buy a new lens cap so you can find the old one because you will as soon as you get the new one!
@grammyn We are refusing to give up, Katy - John is out there again trying to work out where it could have disappeared to! If all else fails, we will blow the blooming car up!
Your 3 good things are enough for a fave but this little beauty is a definite fave on his own! that blue black is beautiful. The shoes... wow. That was intense to read about, I can imagine the impact of seeing them once knowing what it was about.
So sad about the shoes. as for your cap, glad you finally found it. I couldn't find my black pocket camera once. I looks everywhere in the house for it as well as the car. nadda. it had fallen of my lap and went under the car seat. carpet in black, camera in black..now when we miss something, we look under the car seat first.
Your blackbird looks so much prettier than ours. the green backdrop makes the blue colour really stand out.
The first paragraph of your comment made me feel sad...

And black, like white, has so many shades!
