Pebbles by maggiemae

Pebbles

All my photos from now on are an experiment in focus. @vignouse has a similar camera and he has the most wonderful results! I like to learn..
These were some stones we bought in the Grand Canyon that had been polished and we wanted to give them as present to our wonderful neighbours who checked on our mail, checked on our safety etc……..!

Three good things:
1. What’s happening in Britain..
2. Freezing here in NZ - need to zip up my coat right the nose!
3. What dementia does to you — you get all ready for bed -teeth brushed etc then you forget,……eat chocolate and start reading your favourite book!
Sounds a perfect way to go to bed to me.....I'm sure the teeth will survive but it leaves a nasty taste in your mouth, need to taste toothpaste at night! Such wonderful pebbles, they are so beautiful...lucky neighbours!

I didn't know that the Grand Canyon was that colourful. And I do admire you for the way you are always pursuing the art of photography. This is a 1st class still life.

@happypat Thanks Pat - it was sort of a desperate photo to take as nothing else happened in my day to shoot!

@snaphappi There are so many different layers and stones in that magnificent place, it is quite unbelievable!

@fbailey The camera just won't focus - so I have to look at all the options for focusing!

Pretty pebbles... so shiny!

@kwind Thats what commercial polishing achieves. You want to pick them up and roll them in your hand!

Very pretty polished rocks. I have to ask what is the good thing happening in Britain?

It rocks are beautiful and I think you were going to make me for some job of getting them in focus.

Sorry about #2. I worried about you coming from the heatof our summer back to the cold of your winters. Three I'm not sure that's Dementia! Sounds pretty smart to me to eat chocolate before you go to bed

@grammyn In some ways the cold is nice - when the sun shines, Katy but when its drizzling and cold, just plain miserable! Chocolate makes the sun shine on one's insides though!

September 3rd, 2017
@suelaubscher wouldn't it be nice if they all had that flavour - liquorice, raspberry, mint and chocolate? But what would be the blue?
September 3rd, 2017
lovely colours! #3 is probably not dementia. just a distraction. :-)
September 4th, 2017
This is lovely. Youngest son collects these polished stones and also has a tumbler for making his own from dull pebbles xx

Beautiful colours in the stones!

My favourite stone - The one on the bottom left with the orange and the olive greens. I haven't spotted the good thing happening in Britain either!
