The Old Hotel by maggiemae

The Old Hotel

Patience is a virtue…

Three things went wrong today - a leak in a window, the TV will not work! And… I forgot a full glass of water beside the bed before we travelled…. and it went all over the bed!
Three good things:
1. Three good things neutralise three bad things.
2. It rained and rained! But the view across this tiny out of the way place had such promise! And in the evening the rain stopped and I got this photo of the ‘old hotel” - no longer but still looks good!
3. No TV so we talked…
Beautiful lighting in your pic ...wonderful that the rain stopped so you could take this!

@louannwarren Quite right Lou Ann! I don't have a spare summer set though! They dried out OK when we put the heater on!

Love that your good things outweigh the wet things! Something about lights shine from a well lit house, very welcoming, I love it but I don't like to be inside with it dark outside & curtains not drawn. Talking is always good!

Great light - I love the colour of the sky and the contrasting yellow light in the old hotel building. Glad you found the positives.

Beautiful, clear blue-hour shot. My wife doesn't stick anywhere without a tv on even though sometimes she's not interested in what is showing.

things always come in 3's, whether they be good or bad - at least that's what i remember my old grandaunts use to tell us when we were kids. but you always have a positive outlook so the bad things would probably look good to you anyway.

i have not had a tv for more than 10 years now and i don't miss it. i only always watched the news anyway and the news are always rather depressing.

this is a lovely shot, especially with the lit windows setting off the structure so beautifully against all the dark blues. aces!

Love the sky and lighting

The sky is such a pretty colour and the lights in the windows make the old hotel look very inviting.

Lovely clarity in this photo. Love it.

What a pretty photo. Sounds like you two are managing without tv.

We were without the TV after hurricane Riley for almost 6 days and I can honestly say I didn't miss it much. I did watch some musicals and movies in my laptop when the generator was on, but I didn't have those for 3 days and again was living just fine without them. I agree with you- the good things usually outweigh or balance out the bad- great attitude to have! Three things I like about this picture:
- the lights have a very warm glow
- the interesting old architecture
- someone parked a tractor in front of it!!

@olivetreeann Without something interesting on TV, Ann, I go to bed far too early and then wake up in the night!

@darsphotos John wouldn't notice if it was on or off - but I really enjoy just a few programmes!
