Left the Free Parking Zone for another one but this one was away out on the opposite western side of NZ at the Kaipara Harbour. Expecting an empty are as it is miles down a rutted and gravel road, we were surprised to see at least 8 vehicles!
There is no surf here so as John remarks, back to the ‘Oldies”! And there they were all looking at John reversing back into a good spot just missing a huge rock. He knew what he was doing - they just like to ‘help”
There were a lot of ‘thumbs up”!
By 10pm in the dark, another 10 vehicles had arrived!
Three good things:
1. Such a muddy estuary, its surprising the fish can see a bait! But I watched a young guy reel in a little sprat!
2. Nice and level thanks to John putting out planks of wood and the ‘lego’ under the back wheels!
3. Going south - is that good or bad - are we going or coming!
Is everyone trying to escape the surfers I wonder? You have arrived at a peaceful looking spot even if you have to share it with others. I wish you a lovely time here.
Ha ha, don't you just love helpers like that!! I can remember one time trying to put up a frame tent in Trier in Southern Germany. It was very hot, we had borrowed the tent, none of the poles were twins and we had no guide plan for it, so you can imagine it was like a very crazy 3D jigsaw. The Germans kept walking past, looking at us, stroking their beards and saying "nein, nein, you don't do it that way....."
Do you have a beautiful picture of another pretty area. I like your across the water shots. There's something about the way you are processing these two that gives them a smooth appearance. Nicely done Maggiemae
Apparently you are both coming AND going since you are something at home anymore.
Pretty spot
