Boom Boom.. by maggiemae

Boom Boom..

We wanted to support this ‘walk’…. a Memory Walk in aid of Alzheimers. Not because we couldn’t remember but because so many of our older generation family have suffered!
The Pipe Band made all the difference and allowed the people of Oamaru to investigate where this sound came from.
Three good things:
1. Seeing so many leading (holding hands) with those needing support in this walk!
2. We sat on the main street in the sun and just watched people and cars. I did comment that its nice to chat with someone at this time. By yourself , must be a challenge!
3. Fish tonight on Friday was Sea Perch - divine - never tasted this fish!
Heart rend8ng and touch8ng

@yaorenliu I think one of the reasons is that we are living to many more years than decades ago and this wouldn't have occurred then

What a lovely idea. I have never tasted sea perch either. Is it flaky or very meaty?

Such a poignant event ...well captured!

@maggiemae yes there were walks all over NZ. My hubby and I did an 11km one in Kerikeri. It was a beautiful walk through the bush, sighting a waterfall! I hope they raised lots of money.

Sea perch.....you have an amazing variety of fish I have never heard of! We don't usually eat perch in the UK, you never see them in fishmongers. I think fishermen on the river or canal bank catch them but wouldn't fancy eating ours. Sea perch must be much bigger & nicer. A very lovely afternoon & great cause bringing notice to this unpleasant scourge of our time,
