I spent a bit more time on the Manual - and wrote what I learned, down on a list.
Tried this scene using the lens ring to get different apertures.
I’m at a side window on the front of the house looking down past the front door where the wisteria is.
Three Good Things:
1. I think John’s got gout.. pain in the toe -quite severe! Doctors appt confirmed this - he’s got to stop drinking beer! He never drinks beer!
2. Mist rolled up from the sea -learned the difference between fog and mist!
3. The police have arrested a man who sped through our town and killed a young 14 year old girl. What was she doing out at 11pm on a weeknight!
Gorgeous welcome for your visitors at the front door! I think you & John are great gardeners! Gout......that's not nice but I didn't think it was beer that caused it! Too much of some sort of crystal in the blood I heard! Painful though! He will be cross with it! I always wonder about these kids out all hours of the night, poor girl she should have been at home snuggled up in bed! Speeding drivers are a menace too!
@happypat Too much uric acid in the blood,Pat. We do consume it but it mostly goes out in the urine. If it accumulates in the blood it turns to crystals which get into the joints Beer is something that doesn't help. However its so much better today. I still can't bend so its John that does all the tidying in the garden and is now something that gives him pleasure. Good things happen out of the bad!
You have a lovely garden MM. Sorry to hear your husband has gout, it's so painful. Hoping for a swift recovery. Perhaps he should take up beer-drinking?

@golftragic@grammyn - Thanks Marnie and Katy - but beer gives him indigestion. He is starting to wonder if its not gout - has got better rather quickly. We will see from the blood tests!
@ludwigsdiana I can't understand what 14 year olds are doing out of their homes at this time of night. Not that its any help with this awful situation!
