740 pages..

I am so enjoying this book - history and drama - could be true, might be a fantasy but it shows Wales in a wild and beautiful light!
Three Good Things:
1. Warm temperatures, 25degC indicated we are in summer mode!
2. I visited a new accommodation site that has been renovated from an old building and am flabbergasted with the innovation: https://poshtelnz.com/oamaru/
3. No photos were allowed but I managed to get two before I was accosted!
I'm going to have to look at up.

Ooh naughty you, I do that too & have got in bad trouble! You would think they would want you to take photos & show people! Will check out this book too as well as the hotel!

@happypat They told me if others want to see photos to look at the web site. I suppose they didn't want any photos to go to bad people who would want to steal things!

Always good to get your teeth into a good book. David's family come from Hay on Wye and thereabouts.

How odd hat you weren't allowed to take photos I would have thought that a bit of advertising would be good.

Will look this book up, Maggie.
I just finished a wonderful book written by Markus Zusak (almost 600 pages). Highly recommended. https://www.penguin.co.uk/articles/2018/5-things-you-need-to-know-about-Bridge-of-Clay-by-Markus-Zusak/

I will look this book up. My paternal side of my family came from Wales. Will you be sharing any of the photos you took of the building, or did the officials make you delete them?

I am told that my "Jones" (my mother) side comes from Wales- but I don't know for sure. So I may trace it someday. Is this a work of fiction? I'd like to see the "illegal" pictures too- the place sounds very interesting!

@olivetreeann with a name like Jones - she will have Welsh blood. This is fiction but based on history and some characters. Poshtel pictures coming up.... @daisymiller

Nothing beats a good book in terms of entertainment value.

Looking forward to seeing the forbidden photos, what a ridiculous bit of authoritarian nonsense.
