Just another sunrise, just another day! But each one is different from the last and will be tomorrow!
Three Good Things:
1. After 6 weeks John doesn’t have to wear a thick bandage on his leg. Healing nicely.
2. Coffee in a small cafe that serves the most heavenly biscuit, laden with chocolate lumps!
3. Leftovers need a bit of help - online - a mushroom and steak pie.
That is so dramatic! I'm rarely on the go at sunrise.....but then it's winter for you right now so perhaps not too early!
Glad John's leg seems to be on the mend.
@maggiemae I'll bet both of you have been very worried about the extended healing period. So good to hear that all seems to be well now. I was very worried for you. After my last lot of surgery didn't quite heal up after some weeks it turned out that I had MRSA and was rapidly (re)hospitalised and hooked up to all sorts of IV stuff for days. Six months of multiple doses of daily oral industrial-strength anti-biotics followed. Most unpleasant. All good now, but no way would I have anything more done to that ankle since MRSA can lurk harmlessly unless disturbed again. Bit of a bummer really, the ankle probably does need more surgery but it'll have to manage without.
@golftragic Sorry to hear about this - but first I'll have to work out what MRSA is - major returns of salty acronyms? Now I'll have to workout what an acronym is! I'm doomed!
@maggiemae Very scary! I'd been going in to the orthopod's rooms weekly to have my dressing changed. He was getting increasingly unhappy, sent me for tests. Results back as I went for my 'regular' weekly visit, him horrified, me shot off straight into hospital without PJs, toothbrush or anything. Thank goodness for Les, she was a career nurse so calmly packed a bag for me and brought it in. Must confess I was packing it.
Oh dear I’m way behind with your doings! So glad John is on the next stage of his recovery....he will be so relieved to be rid of that bandage,,..I’m glad it wasn’t summer time! He must be careful now not to knock it, will be quite tender still. Stunning sunrise!
@maggiemae Golden staph is a hazard in most, if not all hospitals unfortunately. I've been fortunate in that I had 9 lots of surgery on my hips, knees, ankles in around 10 or 11 years and had problems only with the last lot. The anti-biotics I was on were industrial strength, the bug is very hard to deal with.
