This expression popped up in our day’s experiences but heaven knows why!
We were downtown getting some good coffee and some sun at our seaside cafe and I felt so lucky to be able to see this scene right in front of me!
The little fishing boats come in but we can’t buy fish here.
To be thankful for’
Friends on 365 who comment with humour!
…..and a stray Easter egg hiding in the pantry which got cut in half!
These fishermen aren’t allowed to sell you fish? Omarua is not a fishing port then....that’s a shame if you like fresh fish. Lovely to watch the little boats coming in though. Our daughter & SIL are staying in the north of England at a little fishing town called Seahouses. Half an Easter egg.....you are living it up!!
@happypat All the fish go up to Timaru and are processed there then sent to various places. We get fresh fish from the supermarket but it would probably be a day old!
@maggiemae Ah that’s not too far away then....your fish in NZ is so fresh & varied. Fleetwood was the nearest fishing port to us & it was a busy bustling fishing port but it’s much smaller now & practically all the fishing fleet has gone. Sad times...our fishing industry has been decimated by EU laws.
Lovely shot of the harbour and the boats. I love to sit and watch a view like this with something always going on! Drinking coffee while doing it sounds perfect! That was an exciting find in the pantry!
@ludwigsdiana These eggs were made in our town by a reasonably famous manufacturer! They also make pineapple lumps - we send these to our adult childrens' families!
Lovely scene. I love harbours.very cool look about this.yes.i would have done the same with the Easter egg.that lovely little feeling of glee when you find something like that.he hee.
Hope you enjoyed your 1/2 of the crème egg !
