Farm scenes

After we had picked up two bottles of full milk from the Dairy Farm just down the road, we returned home via another country road. I said to John, we are having a Country Drive! Then saw this scene. This must be an old stables made of Oamaru stone but still looks weatherproof.
Thankful for:
I see older women going round with hunched backs and automatically straighten up! Its a real trigger!
A lovely old building. Yes - posture is so important. My mum, at 96 is still pretty straight, but has the shrinks terribly. She was 5'10" but is now less than 5'6"....

@dide Yes, Julia - I remember looking at my Mum straight in the face then when she was in her 80s, looking down! Not going to be me!

Lovely building peeping through the trees. The trees still look rather wintery but signs of Spring in there with the daffodils blooming.

Jerry loves to take back roads. My mother harped about standing up straight and it has paid off for me!

A beautiful country scene.

Still drinking milk is probably one of the reasons why you don’t have to worry about your back being hunched over so much.

ah yes, a country drive for you too. My Mum is bent over 90degrees. Certainly makes me stand up straight!

Funny you should write about straight backs as I’ve just written how straight my friend Eileen stands...you are so right...I do try too when I catch sight of myself in a shop window!

@grammyn Drank heaps growing up but now have osteoporosis and that causes hunched backs so I'm forcing myself!

With that lovely stone I reckon that building could be restored to use in some form.

@golftragic Actually, Marnie just up the road where I have shot several times, an old 2 storey shed is now being transformed!

@maggiemae I love that kind of stonework, but nothing round here like that.

@golftragic Probably more likely in Tasmania....

@maggiemae And South Australia, there's lovely stone there. We have bluestone here (a type of basalt). Some early settlers used it but it would be far too expensive to use in houses now. Damned cold too.

@golftragic Yes, like the churches! Have to start heating them up on the Sat for the Sunday services!
