Fire fire.. by maggiemae

Fire fire..

Over on the next ridge from ours, a fire was burning through bush. I could hear the helicopters working for some hours and they handled it well. All out.
Thankful for:
Trying to throw stuff out - found a number of photo albums in the storage up in our attic. Good history - awful photos I realise now. Also found a dead mouse! Eek!
Aww no. Am glad the people are OK.. Hate when these happen. Hope the wildlife is OK 😢 Good pic tho

Great capture of those helicopters. Glad the fire is out! I am putting off going through all my old photos, that will be a massive throw away session. Ha!

Oh no too soon for bushfires. There have been lots of burn offs here this week. We dont want another year like the beginning if this one with bushfires

We're trying to throw out, too. Is it a never-ending battle? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great view of the helicopters Maggie...a strange time to have a fire I would have thought...is everywhere very dry even in winter?

@happypat There are three current fires going or more in NZ. Frost dries out the foliage and it takes just a small spark to set them off!

That fire looks a bit close for comfort, good to hear you're OK. Loved the story about your old photos, I dug out a couple the other day - and cringed at the lack of skill or anything else!

@golftragic But its too late now with those photos! However they are the true stories of our lives so far.

I can unfortunately relate to this experience. California is up in flames, scary. Stay safe!!
