Boats on the Moat by maggiemae

Boats on the Moat

A real moat and a real castle. Not far from my town - about 16km but a huge reputation not only from this privately owned and built castle but for a prize winning restaurant on the grounds! A model club was having a regatta here and the models were really perfect. As can be seen on the bank..not a boating disaster!
Thankful for:
The restaurant uses all the vegetables for the dishes, from the surrounding gardens and they are so tender and flavoursome!
it does look a bit fairy tale to be a real castle! Must be a lovely restaurant.

@pusspup This castle is known as "Dot's Castle'. She always wanted to live in a castle so she built one!

What an interesting building, I imagine it is a popular restaurant. Have you eaten there?
Must Google it.

@happysnaps @onewing You don't eat in this castle - it is a private residence. The restaurant is in the grounds. And is called Riverstone.

I was fooled by the boats, thanks for pointing out they are models. The building and architecture are sure in the shape of a castle and a beautiful one, too. A gorgeous capture of this lovely scene.

How lovely. The boat in the foreground has seen better days, I like it there, though.

What a fun place and that they are earth friendly and sustainable... a win for sure! Is there a draw bridge on the other side? The Regatta is a great idea - what a fun capture. Love it!

@k9photo Its got all the modern facilities inside, Kate. A couple of suits of armour too! At the moment they are holding castle tours.

@beryl Its traditional I think Beryl - suits of armour, chandeliers, grand staircases etc!
November 7th, 2020
@elatedpixie There is a drawbridge, - and a folly to the right!

I love model making enthusiasts. They are very crazy.

Until I read that the boats were models I thought the moat was huge! This is a spectacular photo of the castle and the moat and the model boats just add that much more to it.
