Rowan by maggiemae

Rowan

I had to wait until the wind died down to get this shot. Experimenting with speed and aperture. This one a fairly high speed. I had to brighten it up. But I liked the ferny look with the rowan leaves. Our house in the background.
Thankful for:
A light-hearted book to just smile and enjoy.
Ah, the old rowan tree! It keeps witches away. I love a Rowan. Nice image!

I love a Rowan tree, prettiest when the berries are out but the leaves look lovely too at other times! We might plant one as they aren’t too big. A very pretty picture.

@happypat I think these rowans have been here for over 50 years, Pat. The berries are a bit of a curse when you stand on them!

@maggiemae Full of red juice....pity they don’t make a good wine! 🤣🤣

@happypat Apparently they can make a tart jam. Not wine - leave that to the grape!

This looks marvellous with the red berries. Cool shot.

It is a beautiful tree, steeped in folklore, apparently they keep away evil spirits but don't ever cut it down or prune it as it is bad luck.

Wildly wonderful!
January 23rd, 2021
@aikimomm It was a bit wild - the fast speed didn't let much light in.

I wonder if it is going to survive in Wellington, I guess birds like them?
January 23rd, 2021
@yaorenliu Well, funnily enough, I haven't seen any birds eating them - maybe the ground is too dangerous?

Beautiful capture, the red sure pops
