The old gate.. by maggiemae

The old gate..

Our new neighbours got into the garden and removed 50 years of ivy growing. This gate was completely hidden. It was put up in the 1950's when our house was built and there were fields all around. I guess it was the way to this field that now has had a house on it for 50 years.
Good to know:
Today, no snow, no hail - just a warm fire to read a book by!
What a great thing to uncover. Stay warm! It’s cold down south.

An interesting find. It would be nice to hear the gate's story. And what an advert for the paint company.

A nice find & so good all that damaging Ivy has gone. Where does this lead to I wonder? Can you walk into the field through this gate?

@ludwigsdiana The building behind it was completely covered in ivy, Diana! Nobody knew it was there!

@haskar Ivy is deadly, Hanna! It smothers everything, climbs trees and eventually kills them.
