unless there was lots of shade, so we decided to do a short road trip down to this beach at Moeraki. Had a chat with Fleur, whose famous restaurant had to close as over 50% of her staff refused to get vaccinated! I think the anti vaccers are so selfish.
But here was one of the boats arriving with fresh fish for the other restaurants here. Our choice was a takeaway which still needed a vac pass. Their reputation did not fail - blue cod - delicious and tender and very crisp chips. A bit too hot to start off with though,

Very filling and the hot sun and sea air made us too lazy to make tea which we really didn't want anyway!
Guess we in the states aren't the only ones with anti vaccers. I have some in my family and didn't attend any family get together over the holiday. THis is a wonderful scene.
Beautiful crisp capture. Sad about your favourite restaurant. I agree, there are too many selfish people around. I think I would have treated my employees differently than to close down shop because of them.
A lovely image. My heart breaks for the restaurant owners, Covid has added such a layer of anxiety to their already stressful profession. I’m thankful she can prepare to go orders.
What a great photo. Too bad about the anti vaccers but glad you got lunch. I’ve had the series of two vaccines.. First one made me sick and the second one made me a lot sicker. I’m waiting on the booster. Where we live locally everyone wears facemasks. What a very different life this is.
Oh dear I think the Fleur’s place was iconic there at the Moeraki beach….we went when we visited. Why don’t folk just get vaccinated…you are quite strict with that so they must know they will lose their jobs…poor Fleur & her patrons.
@maggiemae a darn shame…can’t she get anyone who is vaccinated that would like to work there but I suppose like every other country staff is hard to come by. You have no visitors working their way round NZ either.
Such vibrant colors, looks like a great spot to be. So sad about the restaurant having to close; it's hard to understand some folks' ignorance. I just read your new "bio" and am incredibly impressed with your perfect record of posting photos-the-day-they-were-taken. I think I could count on one hand the number of my own same-day postings. Let alone all the days/weeks/months I haven't posted at all. Kudos to you!

I am so sorry Fleur has had to close her restaurant. It was one of the things I was wanting to do sometime. Have tried a couple of times and it hasn't worked out.
