Granite stone cookware

I bought this on a whim and found it selling on a local site. After reviewing everything we feel this was not a legally bought piece of equipment. It does not work without a lot of work and energy. I wanted to do two pancakes on this once it had heated up.. But found it was hot in the middle but not on the sides. So pancakes were nice but not browned.
Thankful for: yoghurt, lemon and maple syrup made this lunch into something vaguely acceptable!
Beware of those whims

Shame it was a disappointment.

I’m sorry it didn’t work out. Maybe you can find a use for it? As a tray perhaps?

I feel like you bought some other stoneware some time ago and was equally disappointed with it. Unless this was the piece.

Oh, so sorry it wasn't what was expected.

Always a pity when the advertising is misleading.

I've never seen a frying pan like that before!

Disappointing maggie….all these adverts promise so much…..the pancake looks pretty sitting there though!

@grammyn This was the same, Katy but I thought I would try two pancakes at a time - pathetic.

@louannwarren It weighs 5 kg, Lou Ann - its all I can do to lift it off the stove where it has been heating and on to the table!

@kwind Its not really a frying pan - just a huge piece of granite in a frame, Supposed to keep the heat after taking blooming 1/2 hour to heat up!

@happypat Pancakes were nice Pat - I put strands of lemon peel in the mixture.

We once had steak cooked on a piece of stoneware, it was delicious & you could leave it on the hot stone as long as you liked depending how well done you wanted your steak. I remember the staff saying the stones were ages warming up before the meal….. some restaurant on the outskirts of Christchurch. Could have been Rolleston niw I come to think!

@happypat Yes, that's what they are commonly used for - steaks, seafood. Its great in a restaurant - they heat their stones up in an oven.
