Meteorological says 1/4 moon. I have googled and giggled and still do not understand. It says, "The First Quarter is when we can see half of the illuminated part and half of the shadow part of the Moon. This is why generally, this phase is known as Half Moon. We can only see half and half because the Moon is at a 90-degree angle with respect to the Earth and Sun" This is a statement for dummies!
Thankful for:
We got through John's first bladder cancer treatment - once a week for 6 weeks. I should not have worried.
Isn't the language of science confusing??!! If I remember rightly the moon goes through a cycle which can be set out over four weeks (quarters,)
1st New moon ( nothing visible) to
2nd First half moon ( waxing - so getting bigger) on to
3rd Full moon then finishing with
4th Second half moon ( waning so getting smaller)
More importantly the science of medicine is going well!!
Yes how odd is that, I would call that half a moon. Perhaps we have to allow for 3D & the whole circumference of the moon. I never thought o that before! Excellent image.
