The company from Britain asked for John's approval to produce this gin. They did this very well but we have had no information as to how it was sold. Pays to look at what Jackie said here...
2nd story; Last night two ambulance officers walked in our back door and looked at us sitting in the lounge! They had the right address but it was obvious neither of us were in distress! As we were both partaking of a whisky, they used that fact that they were busy working and we were having a ball. John showed them this bottle and one of them pulled out his iPhone and asked to take photos! They left shortly and we never knew what happened from then.
Thankful for:
We did recover and I even took a photo of the ambulance in our driveway.
What interesting stories. Hopefully the person requiring the ambulance got sorted.
Seeing the price of the bottle of gin - I might have needed the ambulance
Fantastic photo and I love to both of your stories. Good to know you were not in need of the ambulance. Too bad you only got one bottle for the royalties.
Oh my- two bits of excitement over gin- must mean something! I was driving home from work one time, at the correct speed when all of a sudden I saw lights flashing behind me. Dutiful citizen that I am, I pulled over and waited for the policeman with my license and registration. When he came up to the window, he took one look at me and said, "You're in the wrong car!" An awkward moment passed as I thought to myself, "What do you mean I'm in the wrong car? This IS my car!" And then he said, "I am so sorry! I pulled over the wrong car!" We sort of laughed about it and he sent me on my way. I'm glad the same was true for you and the need for an ambulance! I would have been tempted to ask them them for a picture too- something to tell the grandchildren about!
The bottle is the star….worth every penny I think especially if you are an Indian Scout & Bert Munro fan. Love the model of the bike on the top.
I have a feeling you may be getting other wrong visits by the ambulance crew!
@happypat Being such a special bottle - it might be that we will never taste the gin. I'd have to break the seal to get in - drink all the gin and fill it with water!
A wonderful gift to receive and such a lovely decorated bottle with the special stopper, number and sculpture. The ambulance officers probably called by to see your bottle famous bottle of gin.
