This Penny Farthing sculpture was built and erected in the Oamaru Beach area as part of a child friendly and tourist attraction. At the base you can see one of our Penny Farthing Riders, David Wilson who has just completed a ride from the far south of NZ to the far north, a journey that took him 3 months and a lot of hard work! He wanted to promote the Oamaru Historic area around NZ and this he did!
This is really an awesome sulpture, Maggiemae. You got this at a perfect angle and pov. David Wilson really had a long three months on his ride, didn't he. Wow . . quite the story.
