Sentry

In the beautiful Oamaru Gardens, there are lots of ponds and many ducks all doing different things! This one stood still as a statue the whole time we were there. Perhaps he's guarding a nest!

Yes, I see him there and even his reflection. Gorgeous textures on these grasses and lovely lighting, maggiemae. GREAT job here.

He was probably thinking "If I hold really still, she won't see me. SHHH!" I was taking the pic of a blue heron once that was doing that; stood statue-still in mid-stride!

What a lovely pond and garden to call home for this feathered friend. His reflection is a bomus. Lovely capture and composition.

Beautiful soft light & although I know it is Autumn in NZ this photo looks as though taken in hot weather..that sun looks so warm !
