Hiding treasure by maggiemae

Hiding treasure

The magnolia flower has a rather beautiful centre but is mostly hidden by the large white petals enfolded around. I've never seen a bee in here so perhaps they need another type of flying insect to help pollinate. Eventually all the pollen laden stamens fall off and leave a cone shape, the bottom of which is a deep purple.

Viewed large you can see the scattering of the pollen so much better!
Pretty shot! They are so lovely!

What kind of lens did you use? I'm thinking a need a macro lens of some sort. I just LOVE closeup photos of flowers!

@havrotb I have a bridge camera, Barbara that doesn't have interchangeable lens. It has two macro settings and provided I have good light and a tripod, I get quite amazing results!
