Heritage

Our heritage in NZ comes mainly from Britain whether Scotland, Ireland Englad or Wales! It is mirrored in our architecture here in Oamaru which celebrates the Victorian era!

Hey, they all look like ladies! Anyone with Latin?
No Latin at all though perhaps something to do with friendship (amicus). Love the light in this shot.

The lighting is good for this, it highlights the statues nicely

I like the wash on this. Flag pics are tough, I think, and you've done well!

I was interested and used Google Translate which gives "friend an uncertain matter". What building is it on? Sounds as if it could be a Court building? Love to hear from a Latin speaker.

"A true friend ascends in times of need"
or, as we say, "A friend in need is a friend indeed."

Literal translation (according to wiki) "A sure friend in an unsure situation"

@lynnb @eniaral @annemary thank you for this translation! I am surprised! I will investigate what this building was built for! At the moment the ground floor is occupied by a old fashioned Victorian Tea rooms. Te ladies are all dressed in Victorian costumes and they serve dainty sandwiches and very flash cakes!

Such a lovely shot, Maggiemae. I think the high key is great.

The high key really sets off the flag. Nice one!
