Not the usual fly shot by maggiemae

Not the usual fly shot

I was fascinated by the detail on this display! They were real and I just took a photo of it. The intricacy of the making was obviously necessary to get the fish to jump to take the bait.
Perhaps its only Scotland that uses these flies but then I don't do the fishing in NZ where these are made. My fly fishing experience involved getting the instructor caught in his crotch with my hook!
Oh they are amazing.. the care and attention that goes into producing these is amazing x

They are exquisite little works of art. Great capture.

There is so much craftsmanship in every little fly. And fly fishing instructors are brave souls...I'm sure they've all been hooked a time or two. Although the crotch hook was most unfortunate. :)

Fly fishing is an art, and it is one that I never caught on to. My Dad was a great fly fisherman

Such work. Fly fisherman have such patience--which explains why I don't do it. Nice capture.

Beautiful collection! I love to see fly fishermen standing in the river flicking the rod. Not something I would like to do myself but it looks good!!

Good shot. I don't have the patience either for fly fishing. I do respect the craftsmanship involved in making flies.
