Storm gone through by maggiemae

Storm gone through

Last night, I went up to the top floor restaurant in our hotel and braved the outside patio still raining to take this short colour from the setting sun. The storm caused flooding and shops to shut. The sirens were blasting out at one time and I didn't know whether we should head for the storm shelters - if there was any!
A stunning capture -- the colours reflected in the sky are so amazing -- these storms can be so frightening !

Stunning view. How cool that you could see the setting sun in the distance even though it was raining where you were.

Fabulous night shot, I love the greenish tones to it. The states have been having a lot of strange storms this summer! It seems very unusual to me.

Beautiful view, Maggiemae. I love the sun going down in the distance. I bet it was scary hearing a siren!! We don't have those things here. I can't imagine what was going through your mind. I'm sure the staff at the hotel would have instructed what to do had they needed to.

@prttblues They were busy mopping up the floods on the ground floor! They need to have hotel exercises in emergency!

What an amazing capture and beautiful view, Maggiemae. Too bad about the flooding. Sounds like they should have better plan to clean up the ground floor. Hope you are feeling better and that things are going better with your sister.

@maggiemae You are very welcome, Maggiemae. I was trying to follow your photos back to where I last commented. I just saw a comment about your sister on your most current photo just above my comment. I am so very sorry for your loss. I can sure understand how you must feel being so far away and having this news come to you. With tears in my eyes I type this. Thinking of you and your family.
