Couldn't go through Barcelona without a picture of this amazing church! Its so big and so high I couldn't get far enough back to get the top of the spires in. @sophiaz said she always wanted to see this. Its even more spectacular in front of it.
Goudi died in 1928 and apparently when asked when this church would be finished he replied, "my client is in no hurry and neither am I"
Such an amazing building -- you could look at this for ever and find something new like both you and @anazad511 Ana I would have loved going inside but the queue was enormous to go inside and as we only had a day in Barcelona when we were in Spain we couldn't have made it even if I was the most patient at queuing !!
It's such a beautiful building.... It was clad in scaffolding when I was there last. I like the people at the bottom of the frame, gives a sense of scale.
I am told it is really something and all the pictures I've seen seem to prove that true. Like all the great pieces of architecture, you really don't get the feel of it until you're actually there. That's how I felt about the Parthenon.
I have seen this church in photos before but you have brought it down to a much more real building. Such decoration & I believe it's still unfinished! The small people bring it to life in my eyes.
@philcameron59 Goudi was obvious in so many places in Barcelona, Phil - he never married - devoted to his art, probably! Hope none of us get like that!
You have captured he feel of this so well. The height and the detail of the figures. We have been there and it's almost impossible to get a shot that does it justice, I think you have.
