On the other side... by maggiemae

On the other side...

... of this rural airfield there was a huge bank of trees. This wee black cat appeared and stared at me on the other side of the runway.
I have to add that she is a normal size cat - my zoom has taken me across 100 metres of grassy runway where I stand. Its a bit confusing.

I took an evening walk up the runway which is 1km long and took photos of something dumped in the gorse, a huge threshing machine, the distant mountains, our wee cottage in the distance and this black cat!
Beautiful shot

I wonder if he has a home and someone to love him? Great spot from across the field.

Can you crop closer? He's hardly noticeable to my eye.

Fabulous capture, excellent inclusion of that black spot.

@kwiksilver I did zoom in on him for one shot, Gillian but then decided you couldn't see the height of the trees!

@maggiemae yep, I understand the problem. Pity tho.

Little black kitten! Love how the image shows what a tiny creature she is.

Beautiful shot. I like how tiny the cat looks compared to "his" surroundings. It makes me think about how tiny the cat is, how tall the trees are, how far away your were from the cat, and the possibility that the cat is very shy or not tame.

@daisymiller That is all very true, Daisy! You can't tell. Well that cat would have been about 100 metres away, the trees would be 40 metres high. The cat is probably one of the Homestead cats and not wild.

@teiko She's not really tiny, Emilie - its so far away! A bit confusing I must admit!

Nice shot, Maggie. The cat seems to be looking right at you. Probably wondering what you were doing. What is a gorse?
