In conjunction with the muddy river photo that I posted on this day, this is the pub just up from the river. Puhoi Pub was built in 1879 and life would be wild here with all sorts of activity going on. Today, there are some interesting bearded fellows on filthy 4X4 bikes (John wasn't one of them) and art and cheese draw people here.
The internet here in Auckland might be called dreary! I could read a chapter of my book while waiting for something to load!
@cottiac I'd have to agree with you - see more like this in Australia than here! Most of our iconic two storey pubs have burnt down! What does that tell you!
Fabulous looking building. From the outside you would expect to find it warm and inviting inside, not drab, dark or cold!
