My last photo showed two wild rabbits taking no notice of me. This photo shows rabbit pie!

My rabbits got away but the ones in this pie did not. The filling comes from rabbits shot in this area by registered people then the meat is processed in a plant in Invercargill about 2 hours away.
I purchased the rabbit pie on a sidewalk stall here.
Oh dear- those unsuspecting little bunnies better beware!

The pie looks tasty, but I'd prefer to have a different filling :)

It looks tasty. I have never eaten rabbit that I know of. I do however have a vivid recollection from my youth of finding 'marbles' on the edge of a cement sink in the laundry area of the town house complex that we were living in. Turned out that the 'marbles' were the eyes of a pair of rabbits that had been killed and prepared for the pot!

@salza ooh, yuk - not a very pleasant memory! A bit like sheep eyes in Morocco!
