A beautiful gift from my cousin who lives in Illinois. She came for a visit and brought this beauty with her. It's crystal and I never tire of looking at it.
Explain how you got this capture! Did you use a black background? Did you select the crystal sculpture in Photoshop and set it against a black background. Do tell.

Since Ben asked the question, I'll tell all!
I set the crystal lighthouse on top of a Scentsy burner bottom (it has a little 8-watt bulb in it - or there about) and set it on my kitchen counter, taking the photo in the direction of the windwos. I took it in RAW and moved it to Picasa. In Picasa, I cropped it slightly, brought up the highlights a bit and put my watermark on it. I used my 40mm Nikon Macro lens.

Thank John and thank you for the FAV! @jgpittenger
Thank you Jane. This cousin came this past year and spent a month helping during my knee joint replacement recovery. I love her. Our mom's were sisters.
Thank you Mike. I love my 40mm macro lens!

Thank you - I love when you experiment and it comes out close to what is in your mind's eye.
