We have a colony of nesting Great Blue Heron on the hill across from our home. These Great Blues are the largest North American heron. They are about 50 inches from head-to-tail, have a wingspan of 66-79 inches and a height 45–54 inches. They mate for the season, but will likely have a different mate next year. These two are on the "look-out" for food.
