My Grandma emigrated from Ireland in the late 19th Centuary. She had a hard life : six children in a two bedroomed back to back terrace house. She took in washing to supplement my Grandad's income.
What I remember most about her was the twinkle in her eyes,even up to her passing aged 86.
And do you know ? When I sometimes catch my reflection in an unguarded moment I see my Granny's eyes smiling back!
