Eastern Kingbird by mandyj92

Eastern Kingbird

I saw him sitting, watching the world from the tip top of a big ole' pine tree. He was pretty busy and didn't sit for very long.
it is a very nice photo
i have some bluejays that come onto my back deck and take cat food
but they are always gone by the time I get my camera ready.

Love the way the bird is isolated against the sky.

@grahamdeller They got their name because of they are very aggressive in protecting their territory. This member of the flycatcher family will attack any bird that dares get near the nest, swooping down with screaming cries. Even large birds like hawks, and crows will be attacked if they get near the nest. In these attracts they will even ride on the back of a larger bird, and peck at its head. (I Googled it) ;)
