Believe it or not, this is a wall... It is, in fact, the lighting-up, colour-changing wall of a toilet cubicle in a restaurant in Felixstowe...! Quite interesting, eh?

Wow! I love this! Regarding your question about taking vs making. I think I usually simply take. Often tho, my images don't look the way I imagined them and so I'll try to tweak them afterwards...usually the results are disappointing.
