Ami Simms workshop

I had to comment on your two photos if Ami Sims. . . I am also a quilter and I have heard Ami's talk on "how not to make a prize winning quilt" and I've taken one of her workshops. She is hysterical and your photos brought back great memories! Thank you!

@wiesnerbeth This was the "dancing spools" workshop. It was so much fun. Taking another class with her tomorrow. It's Strippy Stars...

That might have been the one I took ... About three or four years ago. I used fabric from my middle son's favorite shirt in it. The quilt "parts" are still in the basket but I'm planning to dig it out and finish it up for his high school graduation next summer. I've very much enjoyed looking at your photos. Now I'll get up off the couch and start sewing! Have a lively evening!

I meant to say "lovely" evening but I guess "lively" is ok too. Bad typing! Enjoy your class ... I know this sound weird from a fatal stranger but you should send Ami a pair of underwear for her to hand-dye ... She calls it " the sisterhood of the traveling panties" ... Loads of fun (my mother was folding the laundry and wanted to know why on earth I had my name printed in my underwear...)

@wiesnerbeth LOL! You're a hoot, Beth! Darn, she failed to mention the traveling panties! (But I know how to contact her.) One year, we did tie-dyeing at my daughter's birthday slumber party. I think all the girls dyed panties and socks. Also dyed tea towels at a kitchen shower I hosted once. Always a good party craft...
