Kentucky Dam

Artist Micah Cash did a series of paintings and photographs about the impact of TVA structures on the surrounding landscapes. It was interesting to hear his description of Kentucky Dam (near where I grew up). "It makes you respect its power. It's SO long, at the end of the TVA, the amount of water behind it is HUGE. It knows its importance and what had to happen for its existence," he said. This dam has always been a part of my life, but I've never thought of it that way. I love it when an artist makes you see something in a new way. So glad they included an artist in the symposium on TVA at the National Archives. Here's his website: http://micahcash.com/
