South Pacific on the big screen

60th anniversary of its release
That is so fun! South Pacific was the play my parents’ class put on one year. It always surprised me that my dad was in it — he was usually pretty quiet, so I loved knowing that other part of him!

@wiesnerbeth I had only seen it as a play before, never the movie. Which was interesting. Beautiful scenery! Next up is The Sound of Music. There's a whole TCM Classics on the big screen series. https://www.fathomevents.com/series/tcm-big-screen-classics

@margonaut thanks for the info! I’ve got my friend Melissa on board for next Sunday. My sister and I saw the Sound of Music Sing-a-Long version about 17 years ago. Have you been to one of those? We won 2nd place for our costume — we were dressed as “silver white winters that melt into spring” — although we should have gotten first — beat out ironically by my high school best friend’s husband who was dressed as “16 going on 17.” No I’m not still bitter. (Although I’ve never really liked him ...)
